Earth's Edison class interstellar research ships became operational on Reference Stardate 0/8401 (January 2084), and quickly began gathering new information on antimatter in the interstellar void. Measuring 246 meters long, massing 34,000 tons, and carrying a complement of 58, the class remained in service until 2139. Sixteen were built.[1][2]
