The Romulan Confederation changes its name to Latasam Stelai Rom'lnz (Romulan Star Empire), which translates literally as "Star Road of the People," and takes the form of government that will remain in effect for centuries to come.[1][2]

- c.RSD -1/01: According to Klingon oral history, the Northern Empire develops "the terrible heat/death" (possibly nuclear weapons), and then attacks the capital of the Klingon Empire at this time. Instead of being defeated, the Klingons of the capital unite in outrage and hatred for "the act of cowards, who raise a Great Cloud" to escape "the gaze of the naked stars." The "singular warriors of the Empire" counterattack and defeat the Northern Empire once and for all. In the end, it is the komerex Klingon (Klingon Empire) that controls the entire planet.[4]

- RSD -1/0401 (January): The Romulans are attacked spinward by a race unknown to them, the Corillians. The Romulans, having little force in this direction, sustain heavy losses. The war lasts six months, after which the Corillians, a much less populous culture than the Romulans, are conquered. They are the first starfaring race to be subjugated by the Romulan Star Empire.[1][2]
