The Thufir class destroyers, which first entered service in November 2268, were an Andorian design, and were produced at the Morena and Salazaar shipyards at a combined rate of 15 per year. Of the 372 Thufir class destroyers built by June 2281, 192 Mark Is and 136 Mark IIIs remained in active service, with six Mark Is in reserve fleets; one Mark I had been transferred to Starfleet Training Command; 26 Mark Is and eight Mark IIIs had been destroyed; one Mark III was listed as missing; one Mark I and two Mark IIIs had been scrapped; and one Mark I had been demilitarized and sold to civilian commercial interests.[1]
