Revision as of 19:47, 13 November 2014
The culmination of an ambitious, 14-year design process, the Federation starship Galaxy, the prototype vessel of the Galaxy class, was commissioned in 2357; its first test flight was some time after 5 May 2356, when, still unnamed, it first existed as a flyable space vessel.[2]
Note
The Galaxy's registry was given as NCC-71099 in the "Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual;" this conflicts with the registry seen on screen, and must be disregarded.
