The Federation Starship Intrepid was the prototype of the Intrepid (II) class light explorer.[2][3] In 2379, the Intrepid was part of Battle Group Omega, a task force of seven starships sent to intercept the Scimitar as it traveled from Romulus to Earth in an attempt to attack the Federation capitol with a Thalaron weapon.[4]
Note
The registry for the Intrepid was listed as NX-74620 in "Starships," but this contradicts the registry given onscreen in Star Trek: Nemesis, and has been disregarded.
