The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D rendezvoused with the Challenger class[1] Starship Kearsarge after the Kot'baval festival on Maranga IV in 2370.[2]

The Kearsarge was part of a fleet assigned to defend Vulcan during the Borg Invasion of 2380. The ship's first officer was killed and the commanding officer, Captain Tando, suffered a nervous breakdown, leaving the ship's second officer, Lieutenant Commander Kara na Miin, in command.[3] The ship later made port at Starbase 22.[4]
