While it was ultimately rejected in favor of the [[Mohawk class (SFC)|''Mohawk'']] and [[Iroquois class (SFC)|''Iroquois'']] new heavy cruiser classes, it was certainly a capable desgin. The Hydran Kingdoms' Cheyenne class new heavy cruiser was a variant of the Lancer class destroyer, and was a singular and "unified" heavy cruiser design. While it was ultimately rejected in favor of the Mohawk and Iroquois new heavy cruiser classes, it was certainly a capable desgin. Commissioned in 2298, the Cheyenne class featured a crew complement of 360, a capacity of eight shuttlecraft, and was equipped with four science labs, two transporters, and three tractor beam emitters. The class carried two squadrons of three Stinger class fighters, was armed with two hellbore weapons, two fusion beam emitters, two banks of Type-1 phasers, four banks of Type-2 phasers, and two banks of Type-G Gatling phasers.[1]
