A transporter duplicate was a person who was created by an accidental doubling of a person's pattern while rematerializing in a transporter. On Stardate 1329.1, Captain James T. Kirk was split by a transporter accident. One of the two Kirks produced by the effect embodied Kirk's id, the other his ego. The two were later reintegrated.[1]
