The Federation Starship James T. Kirk[1] was an Exeter class cruiser[2][3] in service in the late 24th and early 25th centuries. Shortly after her graduation from Starfleet Academy c.2399, Ensign Miral Paris was assigned to the Kirk as a junior tactical officer.[1] In 2409, the Kirk was part of a task force dispatched to P'Jem to prevent the escape of an Undine infiltrator — who had been disguised as Vulcan Ambassador Sokketh — after he was exposed by another Starfleet vessel's crew.[2]
