A political organization encompassing a number of star systems and species, member worlds included Earth, Vulcan,[1] Tellar Prime, Andoria, and Coridan.[2] A democracy, the Federation was internally peaceful, its member planets sending delegates to the Federation's central governing body, the Federation Council.[3] Earth was the capital world of the Federation.[4] Starfleet served as the exploratory and defensive arm of the Federation.[5]
