Written by Phineas Tarbolde on the Canopus Planet in 1996, by Stardate 1312.4 it would be considered "one of the most passionate love sonnets of the past couple centuries," according to Gary Mitchell, when he recited a passage from the sonnet: "My love has wings. Slender, feathered things, with grace in upswept curve and tapered tip."[1] While Commander Jack Ransom was convalescing in sickbay aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos NCC-75567, Lieutenant Commander Stevens read The Nightingale Woman to him.[2]
