The Arucanis Arm was the site of a confrontation in 2256 between Federation and Klingon forces during the Federation-Klingon War. Klingon forces led by J'Ula, matriarch of House Mo'Kai, attempted to use the region as a staging area for an assault on and invasion of Corvan II, site of a vital Federation dilithium mining operation. The attack was hindered when the Klingon forces were discovered by several Starfleet vessels, including the U.S.S. Sebrova NCC-1309 and the U.S.S. Ticonderoga NCC-1650.[1]
