- RSD 1/0307: Admiral Threvan resigns after spending several frustrating and unproductive years as the Chief of Star Fleet Intelligence Command. This marks the only voluntary high-echelon resignation in the Command's history.[1]
November
- RSD 1/0311.02 (2 November): Outer Sector Defense Outpost 1, located in the Delta II system, is destroyed by a squadron of seven Romulan cruisers. The 159th Combat Squadron, led by the Horizon class U.S.S. Garibaldi under the command of Commodore Tonsum Han, is out for maneuvers and arrives too late to defend the outpost, where the squadron finds no survivors. Han is subsequently court-martialed and discharged for dereliction of duty in leaving the outpost completely undefended.[2][3]
December
- RSD 1/0312.06 (6 December): Star Fleet Command institutes a Mobilization Alert to bring all bases and construction facilities to combat readiness. As part of the Mobilization Alert, a Zone of Transport Escort is established in the disputed areas. Star Fleet assigns military escorts to all priority transports.[2][3]
