Turkey was prepared from the cooked meat of turkeys, a large bird native to Earth, and was traditionally associated with Thanksgiving, a holiday on Earth; in 2266, Thanksgiving fell on Stardate 1533.6. Captain Kirk told the ship's chef that "if the crew has to eat synthetic meatloaf, I want it to look like turkey." Charlie Evans, an orphaned Human raised by Thasians and granted their mental powers in order to survive on Thasus, used those powers to turn the meatloaf turkeys into real turkey while they were cooking in the ovens.[1] On Stardate 2126.1, Trelane produced a meal with a large turkey at the center of the table; his unfamiliarity with Earth beyond what he could see through a telescope, however, meant that it had no flavor whatsoever.[2]
