- RSD 1/1509: Investigators on Maxwell's Planet, an independent world, notify Earth-based law enforcement officers of an assassination plot against Federation Council President Sardix. Earth security officials conduct a cursory investigation, which turns up nothing.[1]

- RSD 1/1512: The prototype battle cruisers U.S.S. Goliath and the U.S.S. Juggernaut fail to meet performance specifications, so they are decommissioned and placed in storage. A major embarrassment for Star Fleet Engineering Command, fund allocations for research and development are virtually cut off for the next three decades. Star Fleet continues to accept commercial designs for new ships, but the Engineering Command only designs one major class, the Castor class cruiser, before 2148. The ships' failure to perform to specification is a major reason why both the Horizon and Marshall classes enjoyed such an extended commissioned life.[2][3]
