Taris was the commander of a Romulan Warbird that encountered the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D when it discovered the planet Iconia in 2365.[1] Taris rose to the position of praetor after the death of Shinzon, but was ousted from power by Sela. In the ensuing decades, Taris began to seek out powerful allies from both within the Empire and outside of it.[2]
