An Earth novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was an early science fiction tale about a scientist, Dr. Jekyll, who created a drug that released a monstrous second personality, Mr. Hyde. On Stardate 1514.1, Commander Balok of the First Federation vessel Fesarius described a frightening-looking puppet that he had used in communications as "the Hyde to my Jekyll."[1]
