Miranda class[1]
The Federation Starship Defender, a Miranda class vessel, was commissioned in July 2273, and refit to Mark II of the Reliant-type specifications in July 2278.[2]
Although the "Federation Ship Recognition Manual"[2] listed the Defender as Reliant class, the class name was later established on film and in other media as Miranda class.
