Excelsior class[1]
The Excelsior class Starship Farragut was commissioned in February 2302.[2] The Farragut was decommissioned and transferred to Starfleet Training Command for use as a training vessel in 2359, but was later recommissioned in 2373 for service during the Dominion War.[3]
Note
Although the "Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual" gives the Farragut's registry as NCC-2021, this was later contradicted by other sources, and has been disregarded.
