Manacles were restraints used to bind a prisoner's hands. The manacles on Tars Lamora were controlled through a remote system. When Zero destroyed the antenna connected to the system, the manacles on Dal R'El's wrists deactivated and detached.[1] After her previous attempt to escape from custody, Dal used manacles to restrain Gwyn in the Protostar's brig; she nevertheless managed to escape again by mentally summoning her liquid metal weapon, which she used to cut the manacles off of her wrists.[2]
