machine planet

A planet inhabited by living machines. Presumably located on the far side of the Milky Way galaxy from Earth, the inhabitants of the planet found the Voyager 6 probe after it was transported to their star system. They repaired the probe and outfitted it with an enormous ship body, to enable it to better carry out its mission to explore space and "learn all that was learnable." The probe eventually achieved consciousness, adopting the name V'ger.[1]
