The Bengal Tiger class command cruiser (CC) was introduced circa 2250. The flagship of the Dukes prior to the advent of the Lion class dreadnoughts, the Bengal Tiger class was a variant of the Tiger class cruiser, and was in turn used as the basis for the Java Tiger class heavy command cruiser. The CC featured a crew complement of 450, a capacity of nine shuttlecraft, and was equipped with four science labs, four transporters, four tractor beam emitters, and four mech tractors. The class was armed with two Expanding Sphere Generators, four banks of Type-3 disruptors, six banks of Type-1 phasers, and four banks of Type-3 phasers. The CC remained in service until 2281, when it was superseded by the CC+ refit, which was introduced in 2269. The CC+ had improved shields, and remained in service until 2302, when it was superseded by the Java Tiger class, which was introduced in 2290.

The TCC tactical command cruiser variant, introduced in the mid-2280s, featured a crew complement of 430, a four-shuttle capacity, and was equipped with four science labs, four transporters, and two tractor beam emitters. The TCC was armed with two Expanding Sphere Generators, four banks of Type-3 disruptors, eight banks of Type-1 phasers, and two banks of Type-3 phasers.[1]
