The third of fourteen planets orbiting a blue star[1] in Quadrant II of the United Federation of Planets,[2] Cestus III was under dispute by the Federation and the Gorn Confederation in 2207.[3] The entire population of 178 colonists[1] was killed in an attack by the Gorn on Stardate 3045.6.[3] The colony was rebuilt after a peace treaty was signed,[1] and by 2223, the population had reached 1.01 billion people.[2]
