Cygnet XIV was a matriarchal society. Prior to Stardate 3113.2, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 underwent general repairs and maintenance at Cygnet XIV. The Cygnet workers felt that the ship's computer lacked a personality, so they gave it one: a female personality.
