The surface of Lazarus' planet in this reality, referred to as an "antimatter universe" by Lazarus, was accidentally devastated when he traveled to that reality. His counterpart from that reality chased him across time and space, and they became locked in an interdimensional corridor after an encounter with the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 on Stardate 3087.6.[1]
