System L-374

System L-374 had multiple planets when it was surveyed by the United Federation of Planets in 2266. A year later, on Stardate 4202.1, all but the two innermost planets in the system were destroyed by an extragalactic Doomsday Machine as it passed through the region. The third planet had been habitable, and the crew of the U.S.S. Constellation NCC-1017 took refuge on its surface after their ship was disabled, only to all be killed when the planet was destroyed. The second planet had a toxic atmosphere, and the innermost planet had the same surface temperature as molten lead.[1]
