Known in antiquity on Earth, lead was element 82 on the periodic table and had an atomic mass of 207.19.[1] On Stardate 1312.4, Lieutenant Lee Kelso discovered that critical components of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701's impulse drive had "decayed to lead" and were in danger of catastrophic failure.[2]
