U.S.S. Matador (FASA)

The Matador was a Horizon class cruiser. On Reference Stardate 1/0408.16 (16 August 2104), two Romulan U-9 class cruisers attacked and destroyed a group of small asteroid mining outposts near Sigma Cancri. Shortly thereafter, they confronted the Matador and the Excelsior, another Horizon class cruiser commanded by Captain William Gustavus Larson. In a bitter dogfight, one Romulan ship was destroyed and the other disengaged, while the Matador was severely damaged. This skirmish was considered to be a Federation victory in the years leading up to the Romulan War.[1]
