(Redirected from tranquilizer (FASA))
Medication that could place a patient in a relaxed or unconscious state.[1] When Dr. McCoy remarked that he was having trouble sleeping, Captain Kirk recommended that he take a tranquilizer, saying, "Try taking one of those red pills you gave me last week. You'll sleep."[2] McCoy later administered a tranquilizer to calm the highly agitated Dr. Simon van Gelder, who had stowed away aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 during a visit to the Tantalus V penal colony asylum on Stardate 2715.1.[3]
