The official language of the United Federation of Planets, Galacta, also known as Federation Standard, is a regularized, somewhat restructured form of the Human language known as English. Galacta is taught as a second language almost everywhere in the Federation. Among Human cultures, it has often been adopted as the primary language. Many Klingons, particularly those in active military service, also speak Galacta as a second language.[1]
