The Battle of Caleb IV was a major defeat for the United Federation of Planets at the hands of the Klingon Empire, and it marked the first use of cloaking technology by the Klingons[1] since the Federation-Klingon War nearly 15 years earlier.[2] Nearly a dozen Starfleet vessels gathered at Caleb IV to take a stand against a Klingon fleet that had massed there, but the Klingons had the advantage of both numbers and surprise, and only three Starfleet ships managed to escape.[1]
