- Stardate 9522.6: The moon Praxis explodes, devastating the Klingon Empire. Chancellor Gorkon sues for peace with the United Federation of Planets, but is assassinated en route to a meeting with the Federation President. Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A is framed for the murder, and he and Dr. McCoy are sentenced to hard labor on the Klingon penal asteroid Rura Penthe. They are rescued by the Enterprise crew, and, with the help of Captain Sulu and the U.S.S. Excelsior NCC-2000, they thwart a plot to disrupt the renewed peace talks at Khitomer.[1]
