In 2293, the Excelsior class[2] Starship Charleston was inadvertently thrown into Romulan territory by a transitory wormhole, but was able to successfully navigate its way back to Federation territory without incident.[3] The Charleston ferried three 20th-century Humans who had been revived from cryogenic stasis back to Earth in 2364, following an extended stop at Arloff IX.[4] The Charleston later served in an armada to blockade Romulan supply ships from reaching the forces of the House of Duras during the Klingon Civil War of 2367.[1] Named for the city in South Carolina on Earth.
