The Federation Starship Emden, a Ranger class starship[1] commanded by Captain C. Thomas, was on peacekeeping missions between the Romulans and the Klingons in Sector 21803, near Alpha Bayard, on Stardate 9522.6 when it was included in plans for Operation Retrieve.[2] The ship was named for the city in Germany on Earth.[3]
