- RSD 1/6003.04 (4 March): A Rickenbacker class cargo ship, the U.S.S. Flying Fortress, carrying a prototype deflector shield, is crippled and captured by a Klingon vessel in the largest spacejacking to date. The Klingons' cunning plan is initially successful, but soon fails because of the ship's automatic distress alarm. A Federation task force of five Star Fleet vessels, led by the Mann class U.S.S. Leonides under the command of Captain Pyotr Mirabella, is dispatched from Starbase 2 and intercepts the hijacked vessel as it is being towed away, forcing the Klingons to release their tractor beam and flee, while the badly damaged Flying Fortress is recovered.[1][2][3]
September
