The Federation Starship Valor was a Centaur class light cruiser.[1] In 2370, the Valor and the U.S.S. Regal were assigned to escort the antimatter tanker Phoenix to Deep Space 9 when the ships were attacked by Klingon mercenaries. The Valor was badly damaged and one member of its crew was killed by a radiation leak, and Chief Miles O'Brien and Doctor Julian Bashir of DS9 beamed aboard to repair the ship and treat its crew. Disabled, the ship was unable to help DS9 and the Regal fight off a squadron of Cardassian fighters.[2]
