Myriad Universes: baffle plate
A baffle plate was an important component of a ship's Nerst generator.[1] On Stardate 1533.6, Charlie Evans made the baffle plate on the reactor of the U.S.S. Antares disappear, causing an explosion that destroyed the ship.[2]
