Antimatter pods were storage devices used aboard starships like the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 to safely contain the antimatter[1] used as the ship's primary fuel source.[2] When the Enterprise was attacked by a D-7 class Klingon battlecruiser on Stardate 3198.4, marking the start of hostilities in the Federation-Klingon War of 2267, several of the ship's antimatter pods had some minor buckling, but none had severe damage.[1]
