Surgery was a medical procedure intended to repair an injury or to correct a defect. On Stardate 1704.2, Dr. McCoy performed surgery on Lieutenant, j.g. Tormolen after the lieutenant attempted suicide while under the influence of polywater intoxication, but the lieutenant did not survive the procedure.[1]
