Reference Stardate 1/1801 through 1/1812
- RSD 1/18: The Galliant class starfighter is removed from service.[1]
- RSD 1/18: The Broadway class is commissioned with a second-generation warp drive and a crew of 191. The U.S.S. Hurok is among the first vessels of the class.[1]
March
- RSD 1/1803: Ships of the Federation Galactic Cultural Exchange project complete their first visit to all Federation member worlds, bringing each world's heritage to other Federation members.[2] Impresario Vladimir Kossensko, director of the traveling circus aboard the Broadway class U.S.S. Hurok, recounts the frustrations of "five interminable performances" on Vulcan, "before a Vulcan audience who computed risk-assessments of the acrobats and daredevils, discussed comparative anatomy on the midway, and analyzed the mathematical permutations of the juggling acts. But the clowns ... they couldn't fathom."[1]
April
- RSD 1/1804.03 (3 April): Star Fleet's initial network of manned and automated border outposts becomes operational along the Romulan Neutral Zone. The system is expanded and improved during the following 30 years, until most military theorists consider it impossible for a ship to cross the Zone undetected. It is assumed that a similar network has been created by the Romulans. This is supported by the fact that, of the 17 Federation space vessels known to have penetrated the Neutral Zone, none has returned, nor has left any trace.[3]
November
- RSD 1/1811.07 (7 November): Orion ships seeking to re-establish the Talna III colony are turned away by the Human and Vulcan settlers. The Botchok Planetary Congress protests to the Federation Council, only to be told that prior settlers have the right to refuse later immigrants. "Talna" becomes a symbol to those Orions convinced that the Federation means to annihilate them.[4]
December
- RSD 1/1812:[Notes 1] When the Klingons resume more active trading with the Orion Colonies, most Orion trade families shut down their operations with the Federation. Through masterful timing of ship arrivals, the Orions keep the Klingons and Federation unaware of each other's presence for many years, despite Federation displeasure at the closing of so many Orion ports.[5]
Notes
- ↑ Due to a typographical error, the Reference Stardate was given as 1/1818 in "The Klingons: Star Fleet Intelligence Manual." This has been corrected for this entry.
