A hearing was a legal proceeding to investigate allegations of criminal misconduct. These proceedings could involve the use of computers to determine the truthfulness of a person's statements. On Stardate 1329.1, Captain Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 conducted a hearing after taking Harry Mudd into custody.[1]
