The transporter technician was on duty during the incident with the M-113 creature aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 on Stardate 1531.1. When he was informed by Captain Kirk that Sturgeon had died on planet M-113, he assured Kirk that he would retrieve the body.[1]
