Radiation is the emission of energy in electromagnetic wave or subatomic particle form.[1][2] When Ruth Bonaventure caused an unusual reading on Doctor McCoy's medical scanner, he asked if she was wearing "some unusual kind of perfume or something radioactive."[3]
