The Hydran Kingdoms' Crusader class frigate leader was commissioned circa 2257, and was a variant of the Hunter class frigate. Used to support and command frigate squadrons, the Crusader class was a very powerful frigate in its own right. Equipped with fusion beams, a hellbore, and increased phasers, the class was used as a flagship for both Hunter and Cuirassier class squadrons. The Crusader class featured a crew complement of 180, a capacity of four shuttlecraft, and was equipped with two science labs, one transporter, and two tractor beam emitters. The class was armed with one hellbore weapon, two fusion beam emitters, four banks of Type-2 phasers, and one bank of Type-G Gatling phasers. The class remained in service until 2299.[1]
