Ensign Leslie[1] was assigned to security in the Operations Division aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2267. Leslie was part of the landing party to Beta III on Stardate 3156.2, when they discovered what fate befell the U.S.S. Archon a century earlier. He was briefly "absorbed" into the collective consciousness of Landru, but recovered after the computer was disabled.[2] On Stardate 3619.2, he was killed during a mining survey on Argus X by the dikironium cloud creature, which drained all of the hemoglobin from his blood.[3]

Notes and References

  1. Ensign Leslie was explicitly referred to by name in the episode, but cannot be the same character as Lieutenant Leslie, also played by Eddie Paskey, who not only held a different rank, but appeared in multiple episodes following Ens. Leslie's death in "Obsession." One can only speculate as to why two identical men with the same name served on the same ship in different jobs (Brothers? Transporter clones? Alternate universe duplicates?). Further, Leslie consistently appeared at the Engineering console on the bridge, while Rand and Ens. Leslie performed security duties, so while Leslie appeared in "The Return of the Archons" and was referred to by name as Leslie, his rank was never shown and he was clearly acting as a security officer; therefore he is more likely Ens. Leslie than Lt. Leslie.
