The Federation Starship Xenophon was a Marklin class destroyer, and was commissioned circa 2185. On Reference Stardate 1/9405.29 (29 May 2194), the Xenophon, commanded by Captain Kelvar Garth, aka Garth of Izar, spotted a Klingon D-4 class cruiser near Axanar. A confrontation with the Klingon ship led to the discovery of a Klingon occupation force at Axanar, and the resulting Battle of Axanar sparked the Four Years War. The Xenophon was badly damaged in the battle,[1] and was decommissioned.[2][3]
