From its humble beginnings as a workhorse of the Federation's Starfleet, the Miranda class light cruiser ended up making a name for itself across the annals of history, even if some of those circumstances were less than flattering. The Miranda class was a common posting for new captains, and was armed with two forward-facing and one aft-facing weapons emplacements. In its refit configuration as a multi-mission cruiser, it featured five forward-facing and three aft-facing weapons emplacements.[1]
