Benedict de Spinoza was the anglicized name of Baruch Spinoza, a 17th Century Dutch philosopher. While reading through the Enterprise computer, Gary Mitchell referred to "The Ethics," written by Benedict de Spinoza, as "long-hair stuff." Mitchell said that he found the work to be "simple … Childish, almost," and said that he didn't agree with Spinoza "at all."[1]
