Egessemine was the twelfth planet in the Rigel system. A Class G desert world with large deposits of dilithium, Egessemine supported a small mining colony of six people in the early 23rd century.[2][1] The miners operated a vast, subterranean, automated dilithium refining facility, which ran continuously in order to supply the needs of the Federation.[3]
