- Pyrimiis I and II, discovered in 2171 by the Libran class U.S.S. Gemini, under the command of Captain Carlos Dos Passos, collide, annihilating the populations of both worlds; they had refused to leave their homeworlds, as a religion had developed independently on both worlds, worshipping the union of the two planets, and the pending collision was seen by the natives as a final reunion of the two, and the greatest event in their history.[1]

- 11 August: Federation News Service reporter Rachel McCullers travels to Vulcan to interview Ambassador T'Pol as part of a retrospective for the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Federation.[2]
